"Hi," Derek says with a laugh, leaning in to give her a quick peck on the cheek before crouching down to greet Jeff. He gives her a good scratch behind the ears before standing up and grinning at Kate.

"I can't just give it to you," Derek tells her, holding out his empty hands. "I have to take you to it. Are you wearing comfy shoes?"

While he may not be a fan of surprises, he knows that Kate is so he plans to draw this out a bit, keep her guessing until the very end. The best part is that she'll never guess, not in a million years, because Derek hasn't told anyone about the potion except for the two people who have taken it.
