Derek doesn't mean to embarrass him so badly, and he doesn't even take the opportunity to tease him for his blush. This is a big deal for the both of them.

"When we're ready," he says quietly, and slowly reaches out to take Stiles' hand. His pulse flutters against Derek's fingertips and he smiles softly as he threads their fingers together. He looks up at him hopefully, like he's making sure that this is okay.

He's as new to this as Stiles in all the ways that really count.
