Luke can't help himself, he grins at the thought of sixteen-year-old Derek tracking down Helen and trying to even formulate thoughts, let alone words, especially if he thought they were together. So he shakes his head and says, "No. You two are just friends. And you work well together, so don't let your teenaged hormones ruin that." He's teasing, though, feeling slightly less stressed out about this situation than he was moments earlier.
There's still more work to be done, he has to figure out where to go from here, but at least Derek seems to be calming down a little. Adjusting. As long as he's okay, Luke can work at figuring out what to do.
"Yeah, go for it," he says when he realizes what Derek has picked up. "Maybe we should take you shopping, though. Get some food for the cabin if you want to stay there."
