Derek watches Thomas out of the corner of his eye as he warms up, smirking as he leads them out the building. It's still early enough that the streets are relatively empty, and Derek looks over at Thomas with a cocky grin.

"I'm always ready." He winks at Thomas and then rocks back into a starting position. "Go."

Derek takes off like a shot, and while it's nowhere near his full speed, it's very fast for a human. The motion is swift and graceful, muscles burning pleasantly as he moves, and he tips his chin up to feel the cool morning air rush by him.
