"I'm kidding, Thomas," Derek tells him, reaching out to give the back of
his neck a squeeze as he passes by. "Go there whenever you want. It is a
really nice place."
There were little coves like that near Beacon Hills, and he would go out
there to get away from all the noise back home. Sometimes he would go do
his homework or read a book, or just lay there and listen to the waves.
There's something inherently peaceful about the sound.
"Definitely better than the Necropolis," Derek says with a nod, pushing the
lobby doors open and holding it so Thomas can pass through. It's cool but
sunny, and Derek takes in a deep breath with his head tipped back, letting
the sun hit his face.
