"If I'm a good guy, you are too," Derek assures him. He knows that they can go in this circle for hours. Derek can say nice things about Thomas until he turns blue, but have a hard time believing the same things about himself. They've both been through so much, and they're both so broken, but at least they're helping to put the little pieces back together, no matter how long it takes.

He just leans in to press their foreheads together for a brief moment before pulling away and smiling at him. He nods and then turns to look over his shoulder, gesturing for Thomas to follow. "Come on, we're close to the water."
