Lifting a brow in surprise, Kili cannot help the pleased smile that turns up the corners of his mouth at Bitty's praise. "It's kind of you to call me so," he answers, "but I can only hope that I could be the warrior here that I was at home."

It's true that he spends a great deal of his free evenings patrolling the area around Candlewood for any vampires that may be feeding on the innocent, and he does make a habit of practicing with his bow in the woods when he can; but for the most part, they're fortunate enough to live in a world where awful creatures like Orcs and trolls and wargs do not exist. If every they do happen to arrive, though, Kili will be ready for them. By Mahal's beard, he swears he would not fail to protect those closest to him again.

"Still, I most certainly would have done all I could to protect you, with promise of repayment or not. Though I suppose if I could not be there, Mister Derek is a suitable replacement." He says the last part dryly, offering a wink at the baker.
