"He likes it!" Abel shouts, and Derek rolls his eyes in fond exasperation. He reaches down and scoops them each up in one arm, holding them upside down with no effort at all. They both shriek and giggle, and Derek flips them over before setting them gently onto their feet.

"He caught me," Derek says with a laugh, and then he leans in to give Helen a quick kiss on the cheek. "Did you guys get enough to eat?"
