date night
Derek has a lot more time on his hands now that he isn't working the food truck, and he's doing his best to find ways to fill it. He's made some improvements to the cabin, and now he looks at the place that was once a place for him to be alone and wonders if its too small. He wonders if maybe Barry might want to find a place of their own together. The thought scares him and exhilarates him all at once, and he pushes it aside to think about later. Things are so good between them, and he's a little worried to press his luck.
Since the truck has been closed, Derek's Friday nights are free again. Barry is at the station, no doubt cooped up in his lab, and Derek decides to see if he can go coax him out. It's a little strange to walk through the police station, even as often as he finds himself there now. He still has a bit of a reputation there, thanks to his history of showing up with bleeding criminals, and now he's also known as the boyfriend of the cute new forensic scientist.
He waves at a few people, avoids small talk with a few others, and finally breathes in relief once he finds Barry's lab. He's the only one inside, sitting in the moonlight pouring in through the window, and Derek knocks on the door frame. "Hey," he says quietly. "Must be a hell of a case."

Barry whistles low. "What a knockout."

"Damnit, Jim," Derek quotes gruffly, smiling a little before finishing off the last of his bread. The moment goes a little bittersweet, and Derek assumes maybe they're both thinking about the families that they no longer have. They have each other and to Derek, Barry feels like family. But still, there's no replacing what they've lost.
"Uhura, huh? Should I be jealous?" Derek teases, bumping his shoulder against Barry's softly. "Bones is here too. Reboot Bones, anyway. This place is so bizarre. I'm friends with dwarves from Lord of the Rings."

Mouth dry, Barry lifts his last piece of bread and tries valiantly to eat it.

Barry's scent goes slightly brittle and sad all of a sudden, and Derek has no idea why. Admittedly, he's been paying more attention to Barry and his food than the screen, so it takes him a moment to piece it all together. It's been a really long time since he's seen the episode, but eventually it comes flooding back to him. Derek has a hard time watching anything involving house fires, just like Barry is particularly troubled by time travel and sacrifice.
"Hey," Derek says quietly, leaning in to wrap his arms around Barry and rest his chin on Barry's shoulder, nuzzling softly at his neck. "We can watch something else."
He bites his lip and presses a kiss behind Barry's ear, something soft and sweet just to remind Barry that Derek is there, that he cares. He still isn't the best at talking, but he's more than capable of listening. "Or-- do you want to talk about it?"
no subject
"He left, actually," he said. "My dad, when he got out of prison. All that time apart and we were finally together, and he barely made a pit stop at the house before he left to go west. He said it was so I could be the hero I needed to be, but I think - " Barry hesitates. "I think it might have been because he knew I'd gone back in time, and I still didn't save her. I could have fixed everything right then - for him, for her, for our family, and I didn't do it."
no subject
"Yeah," Derek replies sheepishly. "That, and I know you pretty well."
Barry starts talking, and Derek listens to every word as he moves so that he's fully behind Barry, thighs on either side of his hips as he keeps his arms wrapped loosely around Barry's middle. Derek finds that sometimes it's easier to talk when he doesn't have to look anyone in the eyes, but he doesn't want to let go. His heart aches for Barry, and he furrows his brow a bit as he processes everything. It must have been so hard to get a parent back only to lose them again, that time of their own volition.
"Barry," he says quietly, gently pulling him back so that he's leaning against Derek's chest. "It's not like you did it without reason. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been, but I know that if given the choice? I really doubt I could have been as selfless. You never stopped believing in your father," Derek assures him, holding him a bit tighter. "And I really, really don't think that he would have stopped believing in you either."

"I feel bad," Derek admits quietly, suddenly feeling the need to be honest. "I really wish that you could be back there with your dad, and everyone else. But-- I'm so fucking glad that you're here."
no subject
"There are worse places to be stuck, you know?" he asks with a faint smile.
no subject
"I just want to make you as happy as I can," Derek admits, wrapping his arms more tightly around Barry and nuzzling the side of Barry's throat and pressing a kiss to each in the line of moles along his neck. "I know you didn't ask to be here, and I know-- I know that you'd rather be home and I don't blame you at all."
Derek doesn't quite feel the same pull to go home. There's nothing waiting for him in Beacon Hills except for more enemies, more death and pain. Darrow definitely has its downsides, and he hates that he's trapped anywhere, but he doesn't even really want to leave. He hasn't wanted to in awhile. "But we're definitely making the most of being stuck here, right?"

Derek loosens his grip just enough to let Barry turn in his arms, and watches his face as he speaks. The emotion and honesty in Barry's voice makes Derek's throat go a little tight, and he nods. God, Barry really does love him. Not that Derek doubted him, but in this moment he really feels the whole depth and scope of that love and it's nearly enough to make his eyes sting. He's just so grateful, and he returns that love with a ferocity that he hopes Barry can feel to his bones.
"If I had the choice, I think I'd go with you," Derek admits. He has people that he cares for very deeply here, and a life that he's come to enjoy, but he would go with Barry if such a thing were possible. For Barry to have his family back-- for Derek to be a part of that family? He doesn't think that there's anything that he wouldn't do. "I'd love to meet them."
His voice is trembling slightly, eyes shining as he leans in to press their foreheads together. "I don't ever want to be anywhere that isn't where you are."

"And I'd go to Beacon Hills if I had to," says Barry, smiling through the tremors in his own voice, "Even if it's apparently populated by dicks."
no subject
Derek positions himself to accept the onslaught of long, strong limbs clinging to him, and he holds onto Barry just as fiercely for a long moment. The tension is broken by Barry's words, and Derek lets out a shaky laugh before sniffling once and reaching up to cup the base of Barry's skull, thumbing at the short hair at his nape.
"Huge dicks," Derek replies, biting his lip for a moment. The only thing truly calling him back to Beacon Hills is his little sister, the one he hasn't seen since she was eleven years old. Still, he thinks that he would choose Central City. "If you knew how much of a hellhole Beacon Hills could be, you'd know just how much that means to me."
He smiles, and then leans in to kiss Barry softly before speaking again. "Nah, Central City would be better. You have your family, and your adoring fans. A coffee even," Derek teases, still dragging his fingertips through Barry's hair. "How could I resist going where I could get my very own Flash action figure to play with?"
no subject
"It would be pretty awesome, though," he says. "Especially when Team Arrow came to town. You'd experience the singular joy of working your way into Oliver's heart all over again."
no subject
"It wasn't that hard the first time," Derek says with a laugh, feeling a slight pang as he thinks of Oliver. "I just threw him off of his game and made fun of him a lot."

"Seems like you might have figured out another part of the surprise," Derek says, smiling against Barry's mouth and kissing him again, pulling him further into his lap. Derek is glad that they talked, but now more than anything he wants to touch. No matter how many times he gets to touch Barry, whether it be a brush of a hand or a kiss, it never seems like enough. "How many times did you have sex outdoors before you met me, huh?"
He's grinning, and there's a teasing curl to it as he kisses him again and nips playfully at his lower lip.

He finds the right angle and rocks forward, feeling every bit of the heat he'd felt before dinner returning with renewed strength. Barry takes Derek's hand and pushes it beneath his shirt, suddenly anxious to have those hands on him. "God, you're warm."
no subject
Once his hand is under Barry's shirt, Derek's fingers trail up to circle a nipple. He traces it with his thumb, flicking his nail across it once it stiffens. Derek surges up onto his knees and catches Barry as he rocks backwards, laying him down gently into the cushions and pushing his shirt up to lean down and press a kiss to his flat stomach.
"You know what I've been thinking about all day?" Derek asks, breathing hotly against the groove of Barry's hip before taking the drawstring of Barry's sweats between his teeth and tugging the knot free. "About just how badly I wanted to get my mouth on you."
no subject
He gapes up at him, ready for anything until Derek undoes his drawstring with his teeth, and then Barry can only whine. "God, please," he says, hips bucking up against Derek's chin. "I love your mouth."
no subject
"You always taste so good," Derek groans, eyes flickering red as he looks up at Barry to see his reaction. He drags his wet tongue down the shaft, slicking the way for his hand to start to pump slowly up and down while he pulls the head into his mouth and starts to suck almost lazily. He wants to take this slow tonight, and pay Barry's body the attention it deserves. He wants to take his time, because he hopes against all odds that that's one thing that they'll never run out of.
no subject
His toes curl inside his sneakers, and Barry suddenly wishes he'd taken them off so he could press his feet to Derek's back, urge him on with insistent digs of his toes. "So good," he breathes, but Barry whines when he doesn't pick up speed. "So slow."
no subject
Maybe he wants to drive Barry a little crazy. Derek bobs his head up and down slowly, draping his arm across Barry's hips to pin them down to the pillows while he blows him. A low growl escapes him, sending vibrations around Barry's cock as he pushes down deeper, relaxing his throat and swallowing. Bitter flavor bursts across his tongue, and he growls again. He practically woke up craving the weight of Barry's cock on his tongue, and now that he has it, he wants to make it last.
no subject
"Please," he breathes out, head thrown back as Derek swallows around him. His toes curl inside his sneakers and Barry's dizzy with it, or maybe it's just the way he's gulping down air, not able to get enough with Derek's mouth so hot around him.
