"Yeah, except after our date you'll get laid and I won't," Derek says with a laugh, relaxing with his head in her lap for a moment. Jinx comes over and Derek holds out his hand, letting her sniff at his fingers and rub her head against his palm. She wanders off and Derek heaves out a sigh as he sits up and grabs their plates to take them to the kitchen, wiping out his bacon pan before the grease sets.

He comes back over to sit down next to Kate, giving her a small smile. "Thanks for coming to tell me."
